ANOTHER GOOD REASON NOT TO USE GLYPHOSATE
A soon to be published study shows that the weedkiller glyphosate can up end sexual development, genes, and good gut bacteria even when used at levels that are considered safe. The research, by Daniele Mandrioli at the respected Ramazzini Institute in Italy, found when rats were exposed to “safe” levels of glyphosate their pup’s gut bacteria was diminished. The study also found evidence of abnormal sexual maturation in the pups born to exposed rats. This is especially disturbing because glyphosate has been widely detected in human blood and urine. It is also an good reason to use other methods for weed control in our gardens.
Natural and effective measures for weed control include:
1. Horticultural vinegar
2. Citrus oil
3. Weed torch
4. Manual removal
5. Covering with black plastic and solarizing
