MICROPLASTICS FOUND IN 90% OF BOTTLED WATER
An article in the Guardian says World Health Organization (WHO) found that 90% of popular water brands have microplastics. A previous study showed micriplastics in tap water, but there were twice as many in bottled water.
The most common form of plastic found by the researchers at SUNY Fredonia was polypropylene, used in making bottle caps.
Bottled water is not a solution. It is not as well tested as tap water and the bar for what is acceptable is lower. It comes from the same sources as our tap water, rivers, lakes, and streams. The only way to keep pesticides out of our drinking water is to garden without them. And we can do that!
